SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM

All information furnished in this application will be held in absolute strict confidence.

The Boxford Village Garden Club awards one $2,000 scholarship each year.  To qualify for the Boxford Village Garden Club Scholarship, the applicant must be a Boxford, Massachusetts, resident and have been accepted as a first-year student at an accredited college or university studying a major in keeping with the Missions Statement of the Boxford Village Garden Club:

 

The Boxford Village Garden Club strives to promote the appreciation and understanding of earth-friendly, gardening, civic beautification, floral design, horticulture, and environmental concerns among our members and in our community.

Example majors in scope include: Plant science disciplines like agriculture, environmental science, environmental conservation and stewardship, oceanography, climate justice, climate warming, conservation, horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, botany, forestry, habitat or forest systems ecology, land management, and other related fields of study.

Financial need is not a requirement.

The award will be based on:

 

  • Scholastic Ability

  • Character

  • Activities

 

Scholarship awards shall be granted to properly qualified students regardless of race, creed, or national origin.

 

No award shall be made if, in the opinion of the Scholarship Committee, no applicant is properly qualified. 

 

Consideration shall be given only to degree granting colleges approved by the Scholarship Committee and accredited by the State Board of Education of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or by corresponding agencies of other states.

The winner and all applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision by May 15, 2026.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

Please read instructions carefully before completing the application. Be sure that you have read the rules carefully and answer all the questions to the best of your ability.  

 

Your application will not be considered unless the Committee has received all of the following, no later than the above date of the year in which you are applying:

 

  1. This application form filled out completely.

  2. An official copy of your high school/secondary school transcript.

  3. A copy of your College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) scores.

  4. Two character reference letters for review.

  5. Proof of acceptance from the college you plan to attend.

 

The Committee reserves the right to verify the information submitted, and falsified information shall lead to automatic and final disqualification of the applicant.
