The environment is an important concern to the BVGC, and we give an annual scholarship to a Boxford high school senior headed to college to study a major in line with the mission of the BVGC.

The 2026 BVGC Scholarship Winner is Kalen Wright
​
The 2026 Boxford Village Garden Club Scholarship was awarded to Kalen Wright, a Masconomet graduate, who will be attending the University of Colorado Boulder to study environment science, with a focus on sustainability and community outreach. She emphasized wanting to be part of the solution in relation to climate change and resource management.
We are so happy to award these funds to Kalen during our first online, self-administered scholarship. Her passion for environmental causes has inspired us all.

Our 2025 Scholarship Winner - Genevieve Tappendorf
Genevieve Tappendorf, a 2025 graduate of Masconomet Regional High School, was awarded the 2025 Boxford Village Garden Club Scholarship. She began her studies in Environmental Conservation and Sustainability at the University of New Hampshire in the fall of 2025.

Genevieve’s passion for the environment has been shaped by years of outdoor exploration and community service through Scouting America. One of the highlights of her Scouting journey was her Eagle Scout Service Project, in which she designed and established a community garden at 10 Elm Center in Boxford - a project that reflects her deep commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.​
